The 190 km from Marrakech to Essaouira is one of Morocco’s most rewarding drives. The road climbs out of the Haouz plain, threads through argan groves where goats famously perch in the trees, and drops you at the Atlantic in about three hours.
Go by private transfer and you can stop for photos, a roadside argan-oil cooperative, or a mint tea whenever you like. In an Executive Van the whole family travels together with room for luggage and surfboards.
Essaouira itself rewards the journey: a walled medina, a working fishing port, and some of the best grilled sardines on the coast.
